Our majors have pursued graduate and professional education in a variety of fields at institutions such as Yale University, Columbia University, University of Chicago, Georgetown University, Harvard University, Indiana University, Duke University, University of Pennsylvania, Notre Dame University, Graduate Theological Union, University of Miami, Loyola University, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, State University of New York (SUNY), and others.
You will find our graduates practicing law and medicine, pursuing careers in education, counseling, art preservation, business, consulting, and religious ministry, with others employed by various NGOs and non-profit organizations.
Religious Studies majors score very high on graduate and professional exams.
LSAT (Law School Admissions Test): Religious Studies/Philosophy majors are tied for the 3rd highest scores.
GRE (Graduate Record Exam): Religious Studies majors have the 3rd highest scores both in Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Writing.
Clearly, a major in Religious Studies has not determined the careers of our alumni. Many other factors contribute to one’s career trajectory: academic performance, internships, networks of contacts, campus leadership and extra-curricular involvement. At the same time, our alumni have uniformly observed that the course content and especially the development of critical skills of writing, reading, analysis, and research prepared them for the graduate and/or professional work.
