Thomas Wenski Archbishop of MiamiArchbishop Thomas Wenski has been a voice for immigrants since his first assignment in 1976 as associate pastor of Corpus Christi Church in Miami’s Wynwood section, where he discovered a group of Haitians meeting for worship and prayer. Following a stint in Haiti learning Creole, he spent the next eighteen years working with and advocating for Miami’s growing Haitian community. He has since directed Miami’s archdiocesan Catholic Charities, chaired the Catholic Legal Immigration Network and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee (USCCB) on Migration, and currently serves as a consultant to the Committee on Migration and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network. In 2010, Wenski was appointed the fourth Archbishop of Miami by Pope Benedict XVI.
